Chatsworth Estate Farm Shop

That place is so enticing it inveigled us back again today.

Such a range of different things ...all sourced from the estate, of course, and set out to tempt!

Fruits and vegetables, flowers ... all kinds of meats, ...cheeses, olives, pickles, ...ready-made pies, savory and sweet dishes of many varieties ...pastas, sauces, jams, chutneys, breads, biscuits, cakes and tarts, ...syrups, cordials, drinks, wine, ...fridge and frozen meals .....
...and truly, I can't remember what else!

Everything set out attractively - makes you just WANT to buy it!!

And outside the hens pecking around the immediate area ...sheep in the adjacent field ...tiny cyclamen growing by the drive in.

The ninth Duke was mad about Shire Horses, and built a set of stables to house them. This is what is now the Estate Farm Shop, and Cafe. Set back from the road, and very attractive.

We bought a  Roast Onion Cob (bread), some vegies and fruits, raspberry jam, and green peppercorn sauce. Also a cookery book and a DVD of The House. And a carry bag.
Resisted the tarts and pies, but HAD to get 2 pieces of eye fillet steak, and a homemade gravy. According to the pouch - "Rich Beef Gravy - a fabulous full-bodied gravy that is a revelation with a beef roast and a perfect partner for Yorkshire Puddings. It's also rather lovely in a Lancashire Hotpot"

We're now in a position to tell you it's FANTASTIC with eye fillet!!!
We selected some anti-pasta ...tiny onions roasted in balsamic ...green olives in pistou, herbs and lemon ...mixed olives in rosemary and garlic...and sun-dried tomatoes.

Oh - AND a wedge of Oak Smoked Cheddar! ...Yummm!!!

Dinner was great!!!
